FAQs
Sports Massage is a specific type of massage developed over thousands of years. It is a blend of Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuro-Muscular and Trigger Point techniques; which are designed to Improve, Maintain, Prevent Injury and Aid recovery of the body’s muscular systems.

If you like to push yourself to your physical limits through movements such as running, cycling, hiking etc or simply exert yourself through strenuous daily activities for example mothers with small children, gardening etc. then Sports Massage can help you!
Too many times people resort to taking prescribed tablets to mask out the pain caused by a muscular imbalance, but this is not getting to the root of the problem.

The simple answer is YES!.. Providing you have a room spacious enough for the massage couch to be set up and adequate room for the therapist to manoeuvre .
Also, there may be an additional charge depending where you live .
Depending on the ailment different techniques such as Deep Tissue Massage/Trigger Point Therapy may be required. Due to the fact that your muscles may already be tender and inflamed, this may cause some discomfort. However, the therapist will always consult you and work within the parameters of your individual pain threshold.
Each treatment will differ from the last depending on the ailment and how much pressure is required to benefit this. At PRENTICE SPORTS MASSAGE we use a variety of techniques in order to alleviate the problem . Such as:
- Soft Tissue Release
- Deep Tissue Massage
- Neuro-Muscular Techniques
- Trigger Point Therapy
After each session the therapist may demonstrate a number of stretching techniques for you to perform at home between sessions. These stretches can help aid the healing process. At this time you will also be given the opportunity to ask any questions that may be concerning you. However, if you have any further queries, feel free to contact Paul via email or by telephone.
Sessions will usually last approximately 45mins. This is inclusive of a short consultation, in which a brief medical history is required, detailing any Contra-Indications to treatment.
Follow up appointments may vary in duration depending on the treatment required, but on average will last between 45mins and 1 hour.
All ailments will differ in severity, depending on the Type, How it occurred and How long you have been suffering.
Although clients may be slightly tender after certain treatments (Treatment Pain), they should notice improvement within a few days, if not immediately!
